ACT Global Team Presents at the World Health Federation

In May 2025, the ACT Global team delivered a presentation on the ACT Global Network at the Cardiovascular Disease Summit, held during the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. This eminent event provided a unique platform to highlight ACT’s role in the global fight against Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The session attracted a diverse audience that included leadership from the World Heart Federation, international policymakers, clinicians, and potential partners interested in collaborating with the ACT Global Network.

The presentation focused on the global burden and impact of Rheumatic Heart Disease RHD and the importance of registry-based care in enhancing understanding and treatment of the disease. It detailed the development and implementation of the ACT registry, with a spotlight on its successful deployment in Uganda. Additionally, the talk addressed ongoing improvements to the registry system, designed to make it more effective in supporting the global RHD community and more adaptable for broader international use.

This summit marked a pivotal moment for the ACT Global Network, positioning it as a critical tool in the global effort to improve Rheumatic Heart Disease outcomes in resource limited settings. By demonstrating the value of the ACT registry in both data collection and management and patient care, the presentation strengthened the case for global expansion of the ACT registry and encouraged new partnerships that will be essential for advancing Rheumatic Heart Disease awareness, knowledge, and outcomes worldwide.
