ACT Global Network  |  Effective Date: July 24, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at actglobalnetwork.org, including all pages, content, and features made available by ACT Global Network, a program of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (collectively, “ACT Global,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About ACT Global Network

ACT Global is a worldwide network of clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals working to improve outcomes for people living with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) and other structural heart disease, including through the Active Community Case Management Tool (ACT) registry platform, a network of local member sites and institutions, a governance and membership structure, and educational, training, protocol, and policy resources.

ACT Global Network is a project of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and abides by Cincinnati
Children’s Terms of Use, available at cincinnatichildrens.org/site

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for healthcare professionals, researchers, institutions, partners, donors, and members of the public seeking information about RHD and the ACT Global network. By using the Site, you represent that you have the legal capacity and authority to agree to these Terms.

3. Use of the site

You may access and view the Site for personal, educational, and non-commercial informational purposes, and, subject to Section 4, to reference or share ACT Global content. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Site or its servers or networks.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or related systems.
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Site by automated means without our prior written permission.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with ACT Global.
  • Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of ACT Global or any third party.

4. Intellectual property and content reuse

The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, educational and training materials, protocols, policy documents, and the ACT and ACT Global names and logos — are owned by or licensed to ACT Global and Cincinnati Children’s and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are welcome to reuse ACT Global content and tools featured on this Site, provided that you attribute ACT Global as the source and include a prominent link to actglobalnetwork.org. This limited permission does not extend to any use that suggests endorsement by ACT Global or Cincinnati Children’s, or to content expressly marked as excluded from reuse or licensed from third parties. “ACT Global,” “ACT,” and related logos are trademarks of ACT Global and/or Cincinnati Children’s and may not be used without prior written permission.

5. Educational content; not medical advice

Information on the Site about RHD, ACT, and related protocols is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended as, and should not be relied upon as, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical condition or treatment decision. ACT Global disclaims liability for any reliance placed on Site content for clinical decision-making.

6. Network membership and governance

The Our Network and Governance and Membership pages describe how institutions and individuals may join or participate in the ACT Global network. Participation is subject to separate governance policies, membership criteria, and agreements maintained by ACT Global. Submitting an inquiry or application does not guarantee acceptance, and ACT Global reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend, or remove network participants in accordance with its governance framework.

7. Resources, education and training materials, and protocols and policy documents

Materials made available through the Resources, Education and Training, and Protocols and Policy pages are provided “as is” for informational and educational use by network members and the public. ACT Global does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of these materials, or their applicability to any particular clinical setting or jurisdiction. Any use of protocols or policy documents in clinical practice is at the user’s own discretion and risk, and remains subject to applicable professional standards, institutional policies, and local law.

8. Donations

The Donate page links to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Foundation’s giving platform, a third-party site not operated by ACT Global. Donations are governed by Cincinnati Children’s own terms of use and privacy policy. ACT Global is not responsible for the content, functionality, or security of that third-party site. Tax receipts and donation acknowledgments are handled by Cincinnati Children’s.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party resources, including partner network sites and organizations such as REACH, the World Heart Federation, and other RHD-focused programs, for your convenience. ACT Global does not endorse and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these third parties.

10. User submissions

If you submit information through the contact form or otherwise (such as feedback, questions, or materials), you grant ACT Global a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that submission to respond to and administer your inquiry and for internal program purposes. Please do not submit confidential or proprietary information you do not wish to share, and do not submit patient-identifiable health information through the general Site (see Section 1 of our Privacy Policy regarding the separate ACT).

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. ACT GLOBAL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ACT Global, Cincinnati Children’s, and their respective affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ACT Global, Cincinnati Children’s, and their respective affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you acknowledge that the Site is directed from and operated in the United States and agree to this governing law and forum.

15. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Severability; entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ACT Global regarding use of the Site.
